If you decide to continue with the harp Angela will teach you to find your way around the harp, how to read music, harp hand position, basic techniques such as cross-overs and cross-unders, fundamental building blocks like intervals and arpeggios, harmonics and other fun effects.
RSVPs are required by April 26th, space is limited, but additional sessions will be added if demand is sufficient. Admission is by donation.
If you are unable to attend this workshop, but would be interested in attending on another date, please also let us know!
Join us during the Summer Concert Series at Union Church for this special performance – a part of the Yankee Brass Band’s Annual Tour.
The musicians in the Yankee Brass Band come from all walks of life—engineers, doctors, teachers, consultants, professional musicians and other enthusiasts—like those musicians of the bands of the last century. These people come from around the United States to share a common love and respect for the music of the early brass bands. Many of them direct or perform with similar bands in their own home towns.
The combined expertise of these musicians produces one of northern New England’s most entertaining and informative musical events. With its collection of antique instruments and authentic music scores, the Yankee Brass Band gives the audience an auditory living-history experience they will long remember. The quicksteps, gallops, polkas, mazurkas, schottisches and waltzes, and the many overtures and medleys popular in the mid-19th century make up the program of the typical brass band concert of yesteryear.
Bundle up and enjoy a special snowy Taiko Drumming Performance at Arrowhead Recreation Area! Stuart Paton of Burlington Taiko Group will perform with other guests, including participants in the daytime workshop.
Grab your hat and mittens, buy a cup of hot chocolate, and enjoy the show!
