Do you bake the best cookie in the Claremont area? Are you the best brownie maker in the county? Is your pie the sweetest on block? Or do you just enjoy sweet treats? We will be hosting a competition for bakers from amateur to professional to find the most outstanding goodies that our community has to offer. Titles will be declared, prizes won, treats will be devoured, and cookies will be available to sample and buy. This is a great way to buy delicious homemade treats for your family, and even gifts for friends and co-workers.

This Event will be held during Union Church’s Holiday Bazaar, Chowder Luncheon, and Gingerbread House sale. A huge variety of Christmas and Holiday items, food, and gifts will be available at this event. Funds raised benefit WCCMA’s community and youth programs, and Union Church’s community outreach (which includes facilities usage by area nonprofit groups like 4H and WCCMA, as well as donations to food pantries in the Claremont and Charlestown).

Cookie Walk (aka bake sale) begins at 10:00am

Baked goods will be available to sample and purchase. After sampling the entries you will be able to cast your vote for your favorite entry in both categories.

Prices: Small containers: $2.50
Medium containers: $6.00
Large containers: $12/lb (approx .50 per cookie)

Bakers who do not wish to compete are welcome to donate goodies for this fundraiser to benefit our arts programs.

Competition Winners will be announced at 2:00pm on Sunday

Competition information: To sign up as a competitor or to donate cookies, register HERE. There is no fee to enter as a competitor.

Who should sign up?: Anyone who enjoys baking and would like the chance to win prizes!

Requirements: For cookies: 2 or more dozen small sized cookies; for cakes: one medium or larger sized cake; for pies: 2 pies

Recipes must be of the “from scratch” variety, and while boxed mixes may be a part of the recipe, it cannot make up the majority of the entry.

Drop off times for goodies is 9:00 am on the day of the event, or by arrangement on the day before. Winners will be announced at 2:00pm on Sunday and prizes awarded.

Professional Category:

Restaurants, bakeries, and other professional establishments are invited to showcase their talents. A donation of a dessert item created by your establishment will compete for the title of “Claremont’s Best Dessert.” We ask if restaurants will donate a giftcard from your establishment that will be awarded as a prize at the competition.
