Saturday 4pm, you don’t want to miss this concert!

Come celebrate the kick off for Claremont’s 250th, and enjoy a unique performance by Marika Hughes and Bottom Heavy!  4pm at Union Church. Special thanks to lead sponsor SRH Soundworks for sound and technical support!

BottomHeavyMarika Hughes & Bottom Heavy grab tradition by its head, reshaping the landscape of genre and sound. Marika fronts the band so naturally it makes one wonder why cellos haven’t always fronted bands. Rooted in groove—with Kyle Sanna on guitar, Fred Cash on bass, Charlie Burnham on violin, and Tony Mason on drums—Bottom Heavy instantly establishes itself as a strong new sound, flowing freely between funky instrumentals, dreamy lullaby, free improv, and killer songs. As you are charmed by her cello, her voice, and her band, you will be charmed by Marika herself: fiercely authentic, her audience an old friend invited along for the fabulous ride.

Also, we’ll be putting up information about the vendors for next week’s NH Opendoors event soon (event info HERE). We are excited to say that many favorite vendors will be returning from last year, and we’ll also have several new and outstanding vendors as well. Make sure to get your shopping list ready for this awesome annual event!

Instruments for Inspiration Update

PanpipesWe have many more exciting announcements to make in the coming months, but for now we have a special request to make of you:

There are local children in need of instruments, can you help out? We are looking for 2 trumpets, and 1 alto saxophone at least, and they are needed immediately.

Last year we were awarded a large 1- time grant to start this program, and managed to fulfill all instruments requested. This year there is much less money to buy instruments, and the student requests are coming in. Nearly all of the instruments we acquired last year have been given out to students in need. We need your help to keep offering the priceless opportunities that music give.

If you have an instrument to donate, or would like to make a monetary donation to help purchase these instruments, please contact [email protected]. We can also accept donations through paypal HERE.

Thank you for your continued support, we hope to see you this week at our events to celebrate the good that you help to make possible for our youth and community.
