WCCMA seeks Holiday Choir Singers and Section Leaders

The West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts is pleased to announce an update to their Choir program and offers an invitation for interested participant to join.

The WCCMA’s Holiday Choir program began in 2017 as a pick-up and low-rehearsal choir to increase opportunities for community singing in the Claremont, southern Upper Valley NH/VT region. WCCMA collaborates with Claremont Parks and Recreation, New England Classical Academy, and Union – St. Luke’s Church in Claremont. Repertoire consists of secular and sacred music of the season, and is led by WCCMA’s Executive and Artistic Director Melissa Richmond. This year the program will transition to a student and community program with professional section leaders so that music students and community singers may learn from professional singers in their voice types, providing a richly rewarding musical and educational experience. Members of the choir will be auditioned with the expectation that anyone interested in musical growth and enrichment will be welcomed. This program may expand and will be significantly shaped based on the input of this seasons participants.

WCCMA has open positions for all Section Leaders (SATB) as well as open sign ups for the choir going on now, visit https://www.wcc-ma.org/jobs. Deadlines for applications to the Section Leader roles are November 11th, and we encourage choir participants to sign up by November 12th. An honorarium of a minimum of $50 for perfect attendance will be offered to all participating music students and youth.
