Triangle Weaving Workshop

In this class you will learn the basics of continuous weave method on a triangle shaped loom. You will make small triangles which can be joined together to make a larger project.You will learn how to do continuous weaving on a mini triangle loom. Then we will weave a second layer and join the two triangles together to create a square. We will discuss ways to join finished squares to create larger items. This is a great way to “get your feet wet” with weaving, before investing in a large triangle loom, or other loom. The class runs 2 hrs and is $65.00 per student. This includes all materials and a 12″ loom. Materials go home with the student.

Hopstop: Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys

CLAREMONT HOPSTOP FAMILY SHOW: VANESSA TRIEN AND THE JUMPING MONKEYS

Boston-based singer-songwriter Vanessa Trien and her band The Jumping Monkeys will light up the community center with music from their albums Hot Air Balloon, Carnival Day and Bubble Ride. This super-fun show features a mix of blues, pop, bluegrass, folk, country, ’50s rock ‘n’ roll and tropical sounds. Come jump around with Vanessa and her band!

HopStops are recommended for ages 3 and up with accompanying adult; entire families are welcome. Doors open at 2:30, show starts at 3:00 and is 45-60 minutes long. No ticket or sign up needed.

CLAREMONT HOPSTOP FAMILY SHOW: THE NILE PROJECT

RIVER SONGS

Ethiopian-American singer Meklit Hadero is joined by traditional musicians from the Nile Basin in a thrilling exploration of the music and culture of the 11 diverse countries touched by that 4,200-mile-long river. Also part of the Hop’s Visiting Performing Artist series, this world-touring ensemble sings in multiple languages and plays a menagerie of wind, string and percussion instruments.
