Songs of Grief, Hope, and Love, part 1

Celebrate the the expressive power of music at this performance, featuring Angela Biggs, soprano, half of a two part journey for performer and audience. Also performing are Melissa Richmond (flute), Jeanne Chambers (piano), and Chris Cheon (piano). The program for this half of the series will include works by Bach, Handel, Donizetti, Michaud, and more.

Admission is by donation, and helps to support our local music professionals, and to keep the performing for you!

Music for Syria: a benefit for refugees

Local Musicians and students come together for this benefit concert for Syrian Refugees in the US and in Turkey. Music from Mozart to excepts from our friend, Syrian composer, Kinan Azmeh‘s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra (piano reduction by Hugh Keelan). Musicians from Claremont and Brattleboro will perform together, including Angela Biggs, Hugh Keelan, Jenna Rae, and Melissa Richmond.

All funds raised at this event will be split between the Karam Foundation (working with refugees in Turkey at the Syrian border), and Catholic Charities resettlement services for Onondaga County NY.

This vocal-harmony and multi-instrument duo perform inventive and interactive songs for kids about the world around them. Endearingly goofy and amazing energetic, these Vermont musicians have the audience making up songs on the spot and moving to the beat.

In partnership with the City of Claremont Parks and Recreation Department and the West Claremont Center for Music and Arts, children ages 3 and up can enjoy free performances designed to entertain and introduce young children to the fun of music, theater and storytelling. These performances are participatory, so come ready to sing, dance and clap along—bring the whole family! Claremont HopStops are held on Saturday afternoons September and October and February-May, 2016. All performances will take place at 3 pm (doors open at 2:30) at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center, 152 South Street, Claremont, NH.
