Ensemble Schumann join us “at” WCCMA’s home at Union Episcopal Church in the fall foliage, where Sally Pinkas, piano; Tom Gallant, oboe; Steve Larson, viola appear on this exciting digital platform. Ensemble Schumann perform stirring works by Schumann, Bruch, and Herzogenberg. Also included is a very special “encore”: Bach’s ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’, arranged by Entwistle for the trio – and including an introduction by the composer. You’ll have access to the performance for 48 hours to watch and re-watch.

WCCMA Celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day with Mali Obamsawin, José Lezcano, and the HOP

Join us today at 4pm for an Arts Across America performance celebrating Indigenous and Immigrant Heritage with WCCMA, the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth College, and the Kennedy Center.

This concert features works and performances by Abenaki musician and Dartmouth Alum Mali Obamsawin and Cuban-American composer and guitarist José Lezcano. WCCMA’s Executive Director Melissa Richmond will join as a guest for two works by José Lezcano for flute and guitar. This event is part of the Kennedy Center’s Arts Across America series, which showcases artists whose work is integral to the culture of their region.

This program celebrates Indigenous and immigrant peoples’ contributions to the Upper Valley and to the musical traditions these artists practice. Taylor Ho Bynum, Director of the Coast Jazz Ensemble and Melissa Richmond, Founder and Executive Director of the West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts help guide the afternoon’s program.
