In just a few hours we kick off the final concert of the weekend online. Stay inside and cool while checking out the incredible NYC percussionist Mariana Ramirez. This concert will be available for 48hours on YouTube and in Augmented Reality (beta testing) on the new Immersphere App. A live zoom Meet and Greet with Mariana will be held Monday, June 28th at 7pm. It’s been a long pandemic year +, and WCCMA has been innovating until the cows come home. Over the course of the pandemic we’ve held adapted concerts, lessons, workshops, and forged on with the progress for our future home, the downtown Claremont Creative Center. Now is the time we’ve been waiting for – not just the return of live concerts, but hybrid concerts for a live audience and an audience from home or afar. Now we are inviting you all, our family of supporters, to come see and hear about the renovation of the long-empty Claremont National Bank Building on the square. Please join us, share your excitement about the upcoming season of concerts by WCCMA and in partnership with Saint-Gaudens Memorial, the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth College, and Claremont Parks and Recreation, and consider a contribution to the general or capital fund for WCCMA. We are ready to get out together in the sunshine.

A collection of works guitar, flute, and piano exploring Latin American Music across traditions and musical styles. The program will include Nocturne Op. 62 by Miguel del Aguila, Villa-Lobos’ ‘Prole do bebe,’ for solo piano, Piazzolla’s iconic “History of the Tango,” Manuel Ponce’s neoclassical Sonata for guitar & piano, “Paisaje-Vals,” for flute, guitar, & piano by Jose Lezcano, and more. We’ll explore tango’s evolution, impressionist harmonies, pay homage to Venezuelan Vals, and more.

Three of creative music’s leading performers kick off our summer concert series! With Tomas Fujiwara on the drums, Mary Halvorson on guitar and our very own Taylor Ho Bynum on the cornet, the three musicians revel in upending the expectations of their audiences, through their original compositions and compelling improvisations.
Creatively entwined for over 15 years with hundreds of concerts and dozens of recordings, the trio is bringing their talent and imagination to the beautiful backdrops of the Upper Valley for three performances.
This tour was made possible with the support of Jazz Road, a national initiative of South Arts, which is funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation with additional support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The HOP Summer Concert Series is funded by a grant from the Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation.
