Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a holiday cel ebrated by people of Mexican heritage. People make shrines to honor the de ceased relatives featuring the person’s favorite food and drink\, and gift s. This holiday is a joyful celebration of those who have passed instead o f a day of mourning.
\nWe welcome you to join us for music and mask making with the Grammy-winning Villalobos brothers who have captured the h earts of audiences around the world with their virtuosic musicianship\, in fectious energy and profound messages of love\, brotherhood and social jus tice. You will learn more about the Day of the Dead and how to create trad itional Mexican masks found at the celebration.
\nThis workshop is b est suited for youth ages 7 and up\, but children 5 or younger can partici pate with adult assistance.
\nThis workshop is free. Please make sur e to wear clothes which can get dirty as we will be using paint and other materials which can damage clothing.
