Karim Nagi is a true crossover artist uniting the Arab tradition with the global contemp orary world as an Egyptian immigrant in the USA. He has released fourteen albums\, ranging from traditional Arab music to fusion and electronica\, a nd has authored instructional videos for Arab percussive instruments and A rab dance styles. As a dance and drum teacher\, Nagi has taught in dozens of festivals in the United States\, Asia\, Europe and Cairo\, as well as m ost major Arab Culture festivals in the USA. He is also a public speaker w ith a TEDx talk.

~~Pamyua~~ was formed in April 1995 by brother s Phillip and Stephen Blanchett. The brothers stumbled upon a musical conc ept to blend Inuit drum/dance melodies with R&B vocal styling and arrangem ents. The duo immediately began sharing their performance around Alaska an d collaborating with like-minded artists.

Later that year Ossie Ka iraiuak permanently joined the group and in the spring of 1996 Karina Moel ler permanently joined. Today the quartet works with world-class musicians from Alaska and Denmark and travels the world sharing their blend of cult ural harmony.

Pamyua showcases Inuit culture though music and danc e performance. The show is a platform to share indigenous knowledge and hi story. Their style derives from traditional melodies reinterpreted with co ntemporary vocalization and instrumentation. Often described as “Inuit Sou l Music\,” Pamyua has discovered their own genre.

Band members are proud to represent Indigenous culture. The group believes unity is possib le though music and dance. Together\, each member works to interpret Inuit traditions masterfully with joy and sincerity. The response to this messa ge is tremendous as the group is a symbol of pride for Alaska’s indigenous people and to all who see them perform.
