In honor of the June retirement of Marthe Dyner the West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts will host a very special community celebration in her honor, followed by a community pot luck meal. On May 28th at 3pm friends and more than 15 musicians from across NH and VT will gather for an eclectic performance of music spanning from classical to jazz to modern, followed by a pot luck dinner. Performers featured will include Angela Biggs, soprano; Peter Walker, organ; Melissa Richmond, flute; Chris Cheon, piano; the Claremont Community jazz band; and special student performers. Marthe has requested that all donations made at this event go towards the WCCMA’s community and youth programs. The performance will be held at Union Episcopal Church, 133 Old Church Rd, Claremont, NH, and doors open at 2:30.

Join us to thank Marthe for her work in the Claremont and Charlestown communities, and to wish her a wonderful retirement filled with family, friends, and lots of pottery making. All are welcome, and weather permitting there will be outside seating with sound system sponsored by SRH Soundworks – so bring your own lawn chair if you prefer to sit outside. For additional information visit wcc-ma.org or contact [email protected]

About Marther: For 11 years the Rev Marthe Dyner has served the communities of Claremont and Charlestown as the rector of Union-St. Luke’s Episcopal Parish, as an active member of the arts community as a potter. She was a collaborator in the founding of the WCCMA, and has served for 7 years as a member of the board of the West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts. She has been active in advocating for vital community programs – such as Community Transportation between Charlestown and Claremont, youth education programs, and the performing arts. Music and arts are among her great passions and she has been a huge advocate for and supporter of WCCMA’s commitment to providing professional arts and music experiences without a required admission, and has been particularly moved by the young musicians performing and learning through the Youth Arts Enrichment Initiative.
