Summer Concert Series’ 8th Season Schedule announced!

The West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts is pleased to announce the full 2015 Season of the Summer Series at Union Church in Claremont, our 8th Season! This year offers an exciting variety of professional musicians, including returning favorites and new performers to the series. All concerts are open to the public with no required admission, but donations are encouraged to support the series. The series is held at Union Church located at 133 Old Church Rd in Claremont.

Friday, July 24th, 6:30pm
Outside concert – bring a chair or blanket; rain location inside church
Performed on antique instruments and authentic music scores; an entertaining auditory living-history experience often to a sold-out crowd.

Food will be available to purchase starting at 5:30, and will be available through the concert if weather is good.

Sunday, August 9th, 3:00pm
Trios, Quintets, and a Micro-orchestra perform works by Azmeh, Lezcano, Mozart, Paganini, and more! Featuring grammy nominated guitarist Jose Lezcano, local flautist Melissa Richmond, and principal violinist of the Walt Disney Orchestra Lisa Ferrigno.

 

Multicultural Buffet Dinner
Saturday, August 15th, 5:30 – 6:45pm
Homemade food from cultures around the world, including Indian, Lebanese, Italian, Korean, American, Mexican, and more. Served buffet style. Adults $10, students $5

Internationally renowned performers and composers Kinan Azmeh, clarinet, and Dinuk Wijeratne, piano, return to perform their unique fusion of jazz, classical, and world music traditions.

Works by Strauss, Reinecke, Schubert, and Corigliano featuring performances by Angela Biggs, soprano; Hugh Keelen, piano; Jenna Rae, mezzo-soprano; and Melissa Richmond, flute.

Magic workshop, and call for artists!

Magic for Youth: 4 – week workshop
Starts on October 16th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Moody Building Conference Room, 2nd Floor
24 Opera House Sq, Claremont
Tuition: $30, Supplies $10
Learn magic from the tips of your fingers all the way to your toes! Instructor Bruce Cronin has performed across the country and loves teaching the next generation of magicians. A part of NH Open Doors – deadline for early application October 15th
Presented by West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts
at Union Church parish hall, 133 Old Church Rd, Claremont
$20 for Early applications per space, $25 after Oct 22nd
Vendors are now invited to apply to be a part of this showcase of excellent local talent. Artisans who produce their own products are eligible to apply. The Fair will be held on November 8th, 2011 10-2 pm, November 9th 11-2 pm. Vendors are not required to attend both days, but will not receive a discount for missed days.We will accept artwork and wares for display if you are not able to set up your own booth.NH Open doors (www.nhopendoors.com) is an annual statewide arts, food, and lodging event that connects shoppers with local artists. Presented by NH Made, League of NH Craftsmen, and NH Cultural. Our fair will be listed on their webpage and maps, as well as having Nhopendoors signs. Also, our facility host Union Church is holding their annual Harvest Festival on Saturday October 11th. Please consider helping to support them, money raised help to support the facility (historical church and modern meeting hall) we and several other community groups use for our events. The meal is family style, and the meatballs and pie are to die for. You won’t regret spending your Saturday dinner there for a good cause, or you can get take out. Volunteers are also needed for this event. You can contact us if you are interested.

Harvest Festival Supper at Union Church
October 11th – Seatings at: 5:00PM 5:45PM 6:30PM
Join us in West Claremont for this community celebration, a tradition for over 50 years. Our famous Norwegian Meatballs (which you may have also sampled at the Claremont Farmers’ Market and the Birthday in the Bricks Festival this summer), a huge variety of homemade pies, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, winter squash, and coleslaw served family style.  Adults $10.00, 12 and under $ 3.00, Preschoolers free. Handicap Accessible (via side door). In the Union Church Parish hall, 133 Old Church Rd, Claremont NH. Reservations appreciated: 603.542.7209 (leave a message). Following the performance there will be a summer supper on the lawn, including a build your own taco spread, summer salads, dessert, and more.
