The bustling holiday season has returned, and there’s a full calendar of events just waiting for you!

At Union Church Hall, 133 Old Church Road, Claremont, NH

Chowder Luncheon served 11am-2pm

The Holiday Bazaar features a variety of gingerbread houses, baked goods, crafts, berry bowls, kitchen items, knit items, toys, vendors, and attic treasures. Luncheon includes homemade fish and corn chowder, assorted sandwiches, and delicious desserts.This year’s fantastic gingerbread house display will feature decorated houses for sale in a variety of sizes.

Also, West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts will be holding their Annual Baking Competition, a community celebration of deliciousness! Baked goods will be for sale, and for $2 you can sample all the entries and vote for the winner. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Reserve your house by: December 7th

Join us for this delightful holiday tradition filled with gingerbread, candy, and fun! Houses and candy are provided, $12 per house (when registered in advance) or $15 for walk-ins. Make sure to reserve your house by emailing unionchurchnh@gmail.com (best), or calling 802-738-0678 (leave a message with you name, ph #, and number of houses you would like) to guarantee a spot, last year we sold out! Discounts available upon request for families purchasing 2 or more houses. This event is open to all, and is held at Union Church Hall, 133 Old Church Rd, Claremont, NH. (Please note that this is a community event hosted by our friends at Union Church. We wanted to share this with you because it’s such a fun, creative event, and proceeds help to support our facility and their generous financial contribution to WCCMA).

Enjoy Holiday and Christmas favorites with some dixie twists, brass, and a side of banjo. Plus of course some Dixieland tunes! Local favorites the Firehouse Six Dixieland Band will charm you with their musical wit and variety. The decorations will be hung, making this a unique and festive event. Bring your voice for favorite sacred and secular holiday music with local musicians Kirsten Becker, piano; Angela Biggs, Soprano; and Melissa Richmond, flute. From mangers and wise men, to nutcrackers and dancing reindeer. Special guests and cookies will make this an event to remember. Admission is by freewill donation, and the audience contribution will be the compensation for the performers at this event. Hosted by the West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts.

Shop the Artisan Fair on Sat and Sun!

img_3670Join us this weekend for the 6th Annual Artisan Fair, a part of the NH Open Doors statewide touring event. This great event will feature new and returning artists featuring ceramics, watercolor, acrylics, jewelry (beaded and silversmithing), fiber arts, and more. We’ll have music by soprano and harper Angela Biggs for an hour each day. Food will be available, including Norwegian Meatballs, Korean BBQ, baked goods, and more.

Location: CSB Community Center, 152 South St, Claremont, NH (in the multipurpose room, behind the front desk)

Time: Sat 10 – 2pm, Sun 11 – 2pm

Japanese Taiko Drumming Workshops

Learn the art of Japanese Taiko Drumming with Sensei Stuart Paton of Burlington Taiko Group. Each workshop will also have a rehearsal the day of the Performance by Burlington Taiko Group. $25 suggested free will donation. Ages 10 and up, no experience required. Advanced registration is strongly suggested by emailing melissa@wcc-ma.org

Claremont HopStops return: Uncle Rock: Rock ‘n’ roll music for young and old

Robert Burke Warren—dubbed “Uncle Rock” by his nephew—gets audiences up on their feet with his rootsy meets rock ‘n’ roll guitar music. This globe-trotting one-man band performs songs with lyrics about monsters, taking naps and recycling set to Buddy Holly and David Bowie-inspired music. Uncle Rock’s dynamic performances have won him fans all over the US, including praise from the Los Angeles Times and the The New York Times. Parents and kids alike will jump, shout and sing along with their newest (and favorite) relative.
