WCCMA Awarded $400,000 in tax credits from NH CDFA

Dear Friends and Supporters of WCCMA,

I am thrilled to share the great news with you just announced, and to express my gratitude for your support. The Community Development Finance Authority of NH has awarded the West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts with $400,000 in tax credits towards the construction and outfitting of a downtown arts center in the heart of Claremont. This project will allow WCCMA to expand programming, particularly youth programming happening after school and during the day, and of more live music experiences. We envision the space to be a true center for creation in Claremont, and to offer a grand new canvas for creative projects on which to be painted – by WCCMA, our students, other organizations, and creative professionals. We will have event, meeting, and culinary rental spaces, as well as practice rooms, rehearsal rooms, and classrooms. It is still early in our construction adventure, completion is anticipated in 2022, but getting there is half the fun (and fun it will be!)

“Our tax credit awardees are leading collaborative, community-based projects to address critical needs in the Granite State that bring together public and private resources to solving local challenges,” commented Katy Easterly Martey, Executive Director, CDFA. “The diversity of projects funded speaks to the many ways our partners are driving forces behind making New Hampshire communities strong, resilient, vibrant places.” Please check out the full press release for then entire $5 mil in awards from CDFA here: http://www.nhcdfa.org/resources/news/236

We are so glad to have you to be a part of our past, present, and future. Music and the arts are a powerful force in any community, and we believe in their transformational potential for youth. I can’t wait to embark on this journey with all of you to create and shape a vibrant downtown arts center.

Sincerely,
Melissa Richmond
